Ethan here, from Tonic Audio. 👋 I hope you’re finding yourself in the midst of the magic of making music. I wanted to share some exciting news about our upcoming product roadmap, as I believe you’ll be thrilled with the new features we have in store for you in Tonic Audio!
Over the past months, our product team (Allison, Brandon, Valentin, and Lauren) has been hard at work, listening to your feedback, and brainstorming ways to hit the user experience out of the park. I’m delighted to introduce the following features that we recently rolled out in Q2 and the ones that will soon be rolling out:
- ✅ Notifications – Stay in the loop with personalized notifications. You’ll receive alerts for new comments on your songs, mentions in communities, and more. Better yet, you’ll be able to customize notification settings for each community and channel.
- ✅ Remixing – Unleash your creativity with our new “Remixable” feature. Songs marked as remixable will allow others to create their own versions in “My Studio.” Once complete, these remixes will appear in a dedicated “My Remixes” section and the original song’s remix tab.
- ✅ Global Player – Enjoy a seamless listening experience with our permanent footer player, displaying currently playing audio files and metadata. Soon, it will also handle playlists and become the default player for future streaming functionality.
- ✅ Private Share Links – Collaborate securely with private share links. Creators and collaborators can share their work without making it public or giving listener collaborator access.
In Q3 & Q4, we’re bringing even more game-changing features. Here’s a little bit of what we’re working on next:
💬 Rich Chat – Elevate your communication within channels and feedback streams with rich formatting, emoji reactions, images, and links. You’ll also have the option to flag abusive comments. Cuz, ew.😒
🎵 Embedded Player – Sharing your music across platforms will be easier than ever. Our oEmbed embedded player functionality ensures rich player displays on other sites like Discord, Reddit, Mastodon, Twitter, and more.
📁 Folders – Organize all of your song ideas, remixes, and collaborations into folders based on artist, project, and genre–any way you see fit! This is your home for your music.
▶️ Queue – Place any songs into the player queue, and listen to them in order–great for auditioning album song order, adding a friend’s songs to listen to later, or whatever way you want.
💬 Direct Messages – Connect and collaborate more efficiently with direct messaging between Tonic Audio users.
🗒️ Tasklists – Manage feedback effectively with an intuitive song-project task list, allowing you to prioritize and track progress.
We are confident that you will love these upcoming ‘pro’ features as much as us. Whether you make music for a living or are a deep enthusiast, our goal is to empower you to make beautiful music effortlessly and efficiently. We’re musicians ourselves, so we’re building the tool we want to see in the world. Rest assured!
